How to apply

Transparency, inclusivity and fairness are at the heart of our recruitment process. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to apply.

How to apply

Just as a successful football team requires teamwork, individual flair and a shared vision, we look for the same qualities in all our employees. Collaboration, technical skills and motivation are key considerations when we assess applications to our job opportunities. While the type of interview may vary slightly, the core stages below apply to all positions and teams.

Our application process

1. Send your application – in English a. Applications must include a CV and answers to a series of short questions. A letter of motivation is optional.

b. Most job postings are open for 10-14 days. If your profile fits the role, our team will be in touch to schedule a first stage interview. If not, you will receive an automatic update.
2. Online interview Depending on the role, we will either conduct a short online interview or send you a request to record an online video introduction. This is a chance for us to get to know you better - what motivates you and what your expectations are. 3. Face-to-face interview a. If you are invited to the second stage, you will be asked to complete an online behavioural and cognitive assessment. This helps us assess both your preferred working style and approaches to problem-solving.

b. This second interview is typically done in-person, generally lasts one to two hours, involving members of the hiring team. We’ll dive deeper into the role and may ask you to complete a task or case study to showcase your thinking and skills in real-time. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions and explore if UEFA is the right fit for you. We also encourage you to reflect on whether UEFA aligns with your goals and values.

c. Managerial roles generally require an additional assessment via an external partner to evaluate leadership capabilities.
4. Final decision a. Once the interviews and assessments are complete, we make a final reference check and decide who is the best match for the job. Regardless of the outcome, we will provide all final interview candidates with honest and constructive feedback.

b. The successful candidate will be provided with next steps for onboarding and their exciting journey at UEFA ahead!

Our recruitment philosophy

We strive to ensure that our recruitment process is as open and inclusive as possible. Our team personally assesses all candidates with relevant experience.

While we cannot provide individual feedback to every applicant, we will always let you know the outcome of your application.

Which qualities do we look for in candidates?

The technical qualities we seek will inevitably vary according to the specific role, but all our teams should reflect the world of football – diverse, dynamic and driven by passion. This means we put a strong emphasis on candidates who are:

  • 🔎 Flexible and curious – willing to learn and grow;
  • 👐 Open-minded – embracing innovation and different perspectives;
  • 🌍 Culturally aware – thriving in a diverse, international workplace;
  • 🫶 Collaborative and humble – working well with others and contributing to a shared goal.

Tips from successful applicants

1️⃣ Explain your thinking process during your case study or assessment. There’s no perfect answer.

2️⃣ Be structured and prepared in your answers and questions, provide some examples of previous experiences while trying to stay concise. It shows that you are organised and helps you learn more about the role, culture, and team.

3️⃣ Be honest about your skills and past experiences. It’s normal not to tick all the boxes but use this to present other skills that you possess that would be useful for the job. Recruiters want to know whether you are willing to try new things and willing to take on challenges.

4️⃣ Know your strengths and lean on them throughout the application and interview process. Show how they would benefit UEFA and they add value to the role you are applying for.

5️⃣ Be sure to show your passion and hunger to work at UEFA. If you’re tasked with presenting, do so with energy and enthusiasm. Let your potential future colleagues really understand why you'd be a great person to work with!
