Bosnia-Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Italy and Slovenia have formally joined the UEFA Grassroots Charter at an official signing ceremony in Copenhagen, bringing the number of members to 37.
Endorsement
All four member associations are admitted with one-star status and their inclusion is an endorsement by UEFA of their grassroots activities. UEFA President Michel Platini and UEFA General Secretary David Taylor signed on behalf of UEFA, with the presidents and general secretaries of the four member associations putting pen to paper to confirm their membership.
Encourage and support
UEFA strives to encourage and support grassroots activities, and signing the charter means that Bosnia-Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Italy and Slovenia have all satisfied the admission criteria. New members are given one-star status on signing up – with up to seven stars awarded depending on an association's work in specific grassroots areas.
