Olympique de Marseille striker Loïc Rémy faces a race to be fit in time for UEFA EURO 2012 after picking up a thigh injury that is expected to keep him sidelined for up to a month.
The 25-year-old had to be substituted after 50 minutes of Marseille's 3-0 win against AJ Auxerre on Sunday and, following tests today, he has been ruled out until the first week of June at the earliest. "His unavailability should last three to four weeks," read a statement from the club. "OM’s medical staff have contacted France's."
Capped 17 times by Les Bleus, Rémy will have to wait to see if he is included in Laurent Blanc's provisional list of France-based players for UEFA EURO 2012, which is due to be announced tomorrow. France open their Group D campaign against England on 11 June, before facing Ukraine four days later and Sweden on 19 June.
