England confirm Croatia date

England are to play Croatia on 20 August in a friendly international at Ipswich Town FC's Portman Road stadium.

First for Ipswich
It will the first time the first division club, whose ground has a capacity of 30,250, has hosted a senior England international match. England and Croatia have only played once before - in 1996 when they drew 0-0 at Wembley in a friendly.

Warm-up match
The game will be used by both teams as a warm-up for their subsequent UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifiers. England visit Macedonia on 6 September and host Liechtenstein at Old Trafford, Manchester on 10 September. On the same dates Croatia travel to Andorra before then visiting Belgium.
