Argentina beat Italy 3-0 on 1 June 2022 to become the first side to claim the new CONMEBOL-UEFA Cup of Champions trophy.

The silverware has undergone some significant changes since it was first introduced almost 40 years ago but retains its original feel.

Weighing around 8.5kg and 45cm in height, the trophy is made out of brass and coated in silver plating. The shape and design remain much as they were when it was originally made ahead of the inaugural edition in 1985, with France the first team to lift it after beating Uruguay in Paris.

The silverware does have a new base, including a dark grey nickel-plated finish, which helps to modernise a classic trophy while not altering its original feel. The design of the revamped trophy was undertaken by Valentina Losa.
